We pride ourselves on the fact that our cardiac services are state-of-the-art. We are equally pleased to be able to say that our practitioners have very big hearts. Our cardiac specialists don't just see you as a patient; they see you as a person who deserves the best care humanly possible. That's why our cardiac department is staffed with board certified cardiologists, specially trained critical care nurses and highly experienced technicians.

Our investment in technology

When we say we're committed to providing our staff with the best equipment, that isn't just talk. The reality is that we have a $2.3 million cardiac catheterization suite unit where our physicians use modern equipment to visualize the heart at work by monitoring blood flow and analyzing the condition of blood vessels. And let's face it, the better our doctors can evaluate the working of your heart the better they can understand and care for the disease. Patients also benefit from our investment in technology with our new holter monitor equipment that is much smaller and more comfortable to wear. What's more, we have recently upgraded our stress-testing equipment.

Cardiac Cath Lab

Bayonne Medical Center took a major step forward in the area of diagnostic cardiology with the introduction of low risk cardiac cath. lab in July 1997. Performing above state standard proved to be instrumental in leading towards the NJDHSS full service to our cardiac cath. lab in October 2002, allowing Bayonne Medical Center to treat and intervene in a wider array of cardiovascular abnormalities. Responding to the cardiovascular needs to the community has been the central objective in Bayonne Medical Center. Recently, January 17, 2006, Bayonne Medical Center was granted CN to perform emergency angioplasty. Growing upon the success of that program and history of excellence, Bayonne Medical Center was also awarded in participation in CPORT elective angioplasty project to begin early April 2006. It is the commitment in Bayonne Medical Center to continue to provide our community with the most highly regarded diagnostic and interventional procedure to bring a bo ut a healthy community.
