We provide state-of-the-art care to patients of all ages who require surgical intervention. Our mission is to provide safe and efficient perioperative care to all patients. We have an interdisciplinary team who develop a plan of care in conjunction with the patients and their significant others. Our surgical care focuses on physical assessment, patient/family teaching, and continuous psychological/social/cultural assessment and interventions to facilitate positive patient outcomes.
Our Surgical Specialties
Bayonne Medical Center's Department of Surgery encompasses all of our surgical specialties. Our operating room staff is extremely well versed in the latest laparoscopic procedures, such as cholecystectomies, appendectomies, chest surgeries and many gynecological procedures. Using a scope as small as two millimeters, our laparoscopic surgeons use minimally invasive techniques and leave much smaller incision scars. Breast cancer patients can take comfort in the fact that a sentinel node mapping procedure aids our breast surgeons in diagnosis and treatment options. If you suffer from chronic pain, you will welcome the news that our anesthesiologists and pain management team provide minimally invasive procedures that can eliminate pain entirely or disperse it over a wider area so that it is not so acute and debilitating. Also, our orthopedic surgeons are experts in total joint replacement.

We provide services 24-7. Elective surgeries are performed from 7:30am to 7:00pm. An on-call team consisting of a registered nurse, an OR tech/LPN and an anesthesiologist is available evenings (after 7pm), nights, weekends and holidays.

Additional Surgical Services
Bayonne Medical Center's surgical department also performs numerous urological procedures, plastic surgery, vascular and thoracic surgery, general surgery, surgery of the eye, laser and gynecological surgery. Additionally, we are equipped with a minor surgery room where our physicians remove small cysts, nodules and repair small lacerations using sterile technique. What we really want to stress is our singular focus of providing you with the most optimal surgical options in Hudson County. Nobody looks forward to surgery.
