GI/Endoscopy/Bronchoscopy

Bayonne Medical Center’s Endoscopy Department is a three-room state of the art endoscopy unit equipped with full service including fluoroscopy. Our gastroenterologists are certified and boarded in gastroenterology and our nursing staff is nationally certified in GI nursing. Procedures performed range from screening colonoscopy to more complex procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound to diagnose and stage gastrointestinal cancers especially pancreatic cancer and ERCP for removal of bile duct stones and palliation of pancreatic cancer.

Bronchoscopy procedures, examinations of the inside of the airways to detect abnormalities such as foreign bodies, bleeding, tumors, or inflammation, are performed by our board certified pulmonologists.

Bayonne Medical Center’s Endoscopy Department currently holds the prestigious Endoscopy Unit Recognition Status accredited by the ASGE (American Society of Gastroenterologists) since 2009. The ASGE honors Endoscopy Units that follow ASGE guidelines on privileging, quality assurance, endoscopy reprocessing, and CDC infection control guidelines.
