School of Nursing
Skilled, compassionate nurses are the lifeblood of any great hospital or healthcare facility. Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing has been educating individuals to do this critical work since 1891. A leader in hospital-based nursing education, our School of Nursing has a history of excellence and an outstanding faculty that provides students with continuous academic support and advisement.
Accredited by the New Jersey Board of Nursing and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, the Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its admission policies, educational policies, scholarships, loan programs or other school-administered programs.
Combining the teaching resources of two outstanding institutions of learning is one way that we achieve excellence in training nurses. The Cooperative Nursing Program is a dynamic partnership between Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing and Hudson County Community College. The program includes 37 general education credits and 33 credits in nursing theory and clinical practice. Upon completion of the program's requirements, graduates are awarded an Associates in Science Degree and a Diploma in Nursing. All graduates are eligible to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination for Registered Nursing. For those individuals who wish to further their education, articulation agreements with area colleges permit graduates to transfer credits and enroll in a program to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing has a joint application agreement with New Jersey City University (NJCU) for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
